| Fruit Tree Pruning - NEXT CLASS AUTUMN 2012 |
NOTE: Karen will be teaching a fruit tree pruning class for Bulleen Art & Garden Centre, Sunday March 25. Contact Maria 9850 5155 or see their website to book.
LEARN HOW TO PRUNE YOUR OWN FRUIT TREES IN A REAL GARDEN! Many fruit trees benefit from late Summer/Autumn pruning. With the leaves still on the tree it's also easier to see where pruning is needed. We discuss the principles of fruit tree pruning and how to make your pruning decisions. We look at six different fruiting trees, vines or canes in the garden and see how to prune them to maximise harvest and minimise disease. The six will be chosen from student's preferences, from a possible list of 12. Please indicate when you are booking your place in the class which are your six preferences. Choose from Apple,(including weeping standard Apple), Apricot, Almond, Blackberry (Thornless), Feijoa,(including espaliered Feijoa), Grape, Kiwi, Mulberry, Olive, Persimmon, Pomegranate and Raspberry. We learn how to sharpen and maintain your pruning tools whilst drinking tea and munching on fruity refreshments from the garden... NOTE THAT THIS CLASS IS $44.00 PER PERSON To enrol for this class, click here
